Femi Adesina, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, has spoken on some of the actions the President will take concerning his cabinet.
Adesina who appeared on Arise Television on Thursday, disclosed that it was likely he would dissolve his cabinet.
He also said that the President will not spend a long time as it happened at the early part of his first tenure, before appointing those that will work with him.
It could be recalled that President Buhari spent over six months in 2015, before appointing his Ministers, which many Nigerians criticized at that time.
According to Adesina, “One thing about governance is that the first mandate was for four years.
“That mandate lapses on May 29, and shortly before May 29, the president is likely going to officially dissolve his government. That is the way it is usually done.
“He says thank you to everybody that he has called to work with him and then he dissolves that government officially.
“Then when he is inaugurated for a second time, he now reconstitute a government; he appoints his personal aides, he forms his cabinet, he appoints other people to fill other positions.”
Finally, he reiterated that the president had already promised to appoint his Minister as soon as possible.
