Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku, the committee Chairman of Imo State Property Recovery Task Force has on Friday made known in a radio program monitored by ambrosymedia.com, their discoveries since the committee was inaugurated. He disclosed that they have been able to locate many of the looted properties. “While many are waiting to be recovered, many others have already been recovered”, he said.
According to him, virtually all the vehicles in government house were looted when the past administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha left office. He specifically mentioned the fact that the present Governor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and the Secretary to the State Government Barr. Uche Onyeaguocha and others are still using their private vehicles to run State functions and activities.
Speaking further, Ndubuaku disclosed how the buses donated by the former government of Chief Ikedi Ohakim to health centers in Imo were converted for private use by one Pastor Mrs. Henrietta Jacobs who was also a former government official, to run his church and school, while the rest was given to Okorocha’s people who go by the name, ‘Rescue Missionaries’.
He stated that most of the revelation concerning the looted properties came from whistle blowers, who on daily basis inform the committee on the identity of the looters and the whereabouts of the missing properties or where they are kept.
The hard working property recovery committee Chairman also detailed their findings on where some of the looted properties where removed and where they are currently located. For instance, he said some of the business ventures belonging to Okorocha or his son in-law Uche Nwosu, such as; Willowhood Hotels, House of Freader, Reach FM etc, use generators removed from Imo Concord Hotel, Imo International Conference Center, Freedom Square, Deputy Governors office etc
He accused Okorocha’s younger sister, Ogechi of removing and carrying all the over 10,000 seats she supplied to the government of Imo State, during the reign of her brother.
Ndubuaku further revealed the discovery of many removed electric light poles and several generators used for street lightening, during the Ohakim’s era in the home premises of Okorocha’s in-law, Engr. Ololo who also happens to be the husband of Ogechi.
Also in his revelation, Ndubuaku disclosed that all the original road dividers installed by Ohakim administration, but was removed by the past government in Imo, have been traced to Ogboko, Okorocha’s home town, where it is now being sold to interested persons for personal profit.
Finally, he mentioned the number of vehicles personally taken away by Okorocha and his wife, including the ones currently with other government officials of the same past administration and asked Imo people for their support in order to recover all that belong to the State.
